Selected features introduced: (i) the Quick Mask mode and Standard Mode buttons; (ii) saving/retrieving selections from a channel with the Channels Palette; (iii) the Paste Into command; (iv) the Color Balance command; (v) the Defringe command.

Procedures: (i) toggling between Standard Mode and Quick Mask mode is useful when making precise selections; (ii) adding and subtracting from selections with key commands and the mouse, quickly make precise selections (also use the tab key to hide palettes and the zoom keyboard shortcut); (iii) pasting into a selection more than once may be needed for special effects; (iv) Use the Color Balance to cool images off or warm them up; (v) use the Defringe command to remove "halos" (a fringe of a contrasting color against a background) from composite images.
